Dr. Ron Carruth is a seasoned educational leader with over 16 years of experience as a superintendent in both Northern and Southern California. He has served as President of the ACSA State Superintendents' Council and the California City Superintendents, demonstrating his leadership within the educational community. Dr. Carruth is the founder of the California High School Coalition, where he leads a collaborative network of over 60 districts, engaging superintendents, CBOs, instructional leaders, and human resources professionals.
Dr. Carruth's professional journey includes significant accomplishments at the El Dorado Union High School District, where he managed COVID-19 challenges, implemented fiscal policies prioritizing instructional direction, and led energy-saving initiatives. Previously, at Whittier City School District, he collaborated with the Teachers Association and CSEA, increased student achievement, and oversaw a $75 million bond for infrastructure improvements. His tenure as Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services at Whittier Union High School District saw the development of a nationally recognized instructional program and significant bond and facility improvements.
Dr. Carruth has been named ACSA California State Administrator of the Year and served on various esteemed committees, underscoring his dedication to excellence in education. Dr. Carruth's career is marked by his ability to foster high morale, build trust, and drive significant improvements in student performance and district operations.
Dr. Ron Carruth holds an Educational Doctorate (Ed.D.) in Organizational Leadership from the University of La Verne, a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Administration from Azusa Pacific University, and a Master of Arts in Historical Theology from Fuller Graduate School. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science, with a minor in English, from Azusa Pacific University.
